Tires for 2020 Season and Personal Racing Equipment UpdatesKevin England
After announcing a change from the D800 tire earlier this month, there was plenty of feedback from the drivers in the Template Body Late Model Division about that choice. After a meeting that lasted several hours, the drivers respectfully discussed the change and provided positive feedback on it. After listening to their concerns we realize that without proper testing, it is understandable that the majority would be a little apprehensive about the change. We have decided that a tire change now, is not the correct answer and will instead be working with Hossier to find a solution. Template Body Late Models will start the season on the D800 and we will be testing other options, including the 800 ribbed tire, with feedback from the drivers. We would like to thank each and every one of the race teams for having a positive, constructive and civil meeting regarding this.
Street stocks will remain on the 800 ribbed tire that they have raced on for the last few years. We are very happy with the racing in that division and do not feel a change is needed.
We have also updated our general rules and added more specific guidelines and rules for the Personal Racing Equipment section. Part of that change is that all cars, including Burg Stocks are required to have a made for racing seat. Please get familiar with these changes, it is your responsibility to maintain and update your personal racing equipment, however if discovered to be in violation of these rules you will not be racing.
