Opening Night Delivers Full Night of Racing at Galesburg Speedway

GALESBURG, Mich. — April 25, 2026 — Galesburg Speedway opened the season Saturday night with a full card of racing action for Send It Saturday Weekly Racing, featuring the Burg Stocks, Street Stocks, and Limited Late Models. With cool spring air over the speedway and temperatures reaching about 66°F during the day before settling into the upper 40s, the track had the feel of a true Michigan opening night.

The evening began with qualifying for the Burg Stocks, Street Stocks, and Limited Late Models before moving into heat races and a full feature lineup. The Burg Stocks brought the largest field of the night with 57 entries, while both the Street Stocks and Limited Late Models had strong 13-car fields.

In Street Stock qualifying, Colin Bozell set the fast time with a lap of 15.751, narrowly edging Jesse VanAvery Jr., who posted a 15.763. Chris Garrett, Tim Lahar, and Chet Terry rounded out the top five. In the Street Stock heats, Bo Brady took Heat 1 over Ethan Easey, while Will Slaughter won Heat 2 ahead of Anthony Duell.

When it came time for the Street Stock A Feature, Bozell backed up his qualifying speed by charging from the 13th starting spot to claim the 30-lap feature win. Jesse VanAvery Jr. finished second after starting 12th, followed by Tim Lahar, Chris Garrett, and Bo Brady in the top five.

The Limited Late Models also saw a fast qualifier go on to victory lane. Jerry Osterhouse paced qualifying with a 14.212, followed by Jerry Pierman, Chris Garrett, Andrew Ritter, and Josh Trammell. Heat race wins went to Matt Edmonds in Heat 1 and Tommy Easey Jr. in Heat 2.

Osterhouse then delivered in the 35-lap Limited Late Model A Feature, taking the win after starting 13th. Jerry Pierman finished second, Scott Gary Jr. came home third, Andrew Ritter was fourth, and Josh Trammell completed the top five.

The Burg Stocks had the deepest field of the night, beginning with qualifying led by Dave Leonard Jr. at 15.717. Will Slaughter was second quick, followed by Clay Rogers, Lonnie Green II, and Landen Crum. Six Burg Stock heat races followed, with wins going to Danny Payne, Jordan Rench, Jordan Gustin, Brianna Brandy, Gaven Vandusen, and Randy Adams.

In the 25-lap Burg Stock A Feature, Dillon Rose came from the 11th starting position to take the opening-night feature win. Will Slaughter advanced from 17th to finish second, Ryan Allen finished third, Danny Payne came home fourth, and Lonnie Green II rounded out the top five.

The Burg Stock support features also produced strong runs through traffic. Kodee Thompson won the B Feature, followed by Braydn Loop, Kyas Kerber, Zackary Denton, and Marcus Starnes. In the C Feature, Gaven Vandusen took the victory over Randy Adams, Brianna Brandy, Josh Brown, and Travis Petto.

From qualifying through the final feature, opening night gave fans a packed program and set the tone for the season ahead at Galesburg Speedway.
