Galesburg Speedway Cancels Saturday Racing Event Due to Forecasted Freezing Temperatures

Galesburg, Michigan — Galesburg Speedway has announced that Saturday’s racing event scheduled for May 2, 2026, has been cancelled due to forecasted temperatures at or barely above freezing.

The decision was made after reviewing the expected weather conditions and determining that the cold temperatures would create poor racing conditions and an uncomfortable experience for attendees, drivers, pit crews, and staff.

“We understand how disappointing this news is for our fans, drivers, pit crews, and staff,” said Galesburg Speedway management. “Everyone looks forward to race day, and cancelling an event is never something we take lightly. With temperatures forecasted near freezing, we believe this is the responsible decision for the comfort of everyone attending and working at the track, as well as the overall quality of the racing conditions.”

Galesburg Speedway appreciates the continued support and understanding of the racing community. Updates regarding future events and schedule information will be shared through the speedway’s official communication channels.
